About Cron Expression Generator
Cron Expression Generator is a free developer tool that turns cryptic cron expressions like */15 8-18 * * 1-5 into plain language — in English and Arabic — and helps you build new schedules without memorizing the syntax.
What it does
- Translates 5-field crontab and 6-field (seconds) expressions into readable sentences.
- Validates syntax as you type and pinpoints the field that is wrong.
- Builds expressions visually with a field-by-field generator.
- Calculates the next run times in your local time zone, including daylight-saving changes.
- Explains common schedules with copy-paste examples for crontab, Kubernetes and GitHub Actions.
How accurate is it?
The parser follows the semantics of Vixie cron and cronie — the implementations shipped with Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL and most Linux distributions — including month and weekday names, 7 as Sunday, macros such as @daily, and the rule that a job runs when either the day-of-month or the day-of-week matches if both are restricted. Quartz-only extensions (L, W, #) are reported as unsupported rather than silently misread.
Privacy by design
Everything runs in your browser. The expressions you type are never sent to a server. See the privacy policy for details.
